Project Overview
Al Shamsh is executing a large-scale, multi-street asphalt pavement and municipal infrastructure programme across eleven (11) municipal sub-districts within Shatt Al-Arab District, Basra Governorate.
The turnkey scope covers geodetic surveying with GPS-RTK, subgrade preparation and grading, base-course placement and compaction, dust suppression, hot-mix asphalt binder and wearing courses laid with Vögele Super 1900-3i pavers, night paving under full traffic management, in-situ quality control, and continuous coordination with the Municipality supervision team.
Scope of Work
- Geodetic surveying (GPS-RTK): centrelines, cross-sections and longitudinal profiles per street
- Site clearance and removal of old surfaces and construction waste
- Subgrade preparation, cut & fill and precision grading
- Sub-base and base-course placement, wetting and compaction
- Dust suppression by water tanker throughout the works
- Prime and tack coat application
- Hot-mix asphalt binder course and wearing course
- Breakdown, intermediate and finish rolling of asphalt lifts
- Quality-control field testing: sand-cone density, asphalt temperature and layer thickness
- Traffic management, safety signage and night lighting
- Municipal supervision coordination and progress reporting
