Project Overview
This project is delivered under the Community Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme, Phase 8, of Kuwait Energy Iraq Ltd., operator of the Siba Gas Field. It is sponsored by Basrah Oil Company (BOC) and benefits the Al Faw Municipality Directorate.
Al Shamsh is the sole contractor for full turnkey road-pavement services on selected main streets in Al Faw District: surveying, demolition, sub-base preparation, hot-mix asphalt binder and polymer-modified wearing courses, interlock sidewalks, curb and gutter, retaining walls, rain-water drainage rehabilitation and heavy-duty manhole covers.
Scope of Work
- Surveying of streets and sidewalks with GIS plan — 70,000 m²
- Removal of old curbs and sidewalks — 11,500 m
- Street scraping to 7 cm depth — 39,000 m²
- Continuous concrete curb & gutter, 35 N/mm² — 11,500 m
- Interlocking concrete-block sidewalks, 8 cm — 27,000 m²
- Sidewalk retaining walls — 4,500 m
- Asphalt rutting repair in weak areas — 3,000 m²
- Asphalt binder (levelling) course, 7 cm — 39,000 m²
- Polymer-modified asphalt wearing course, 5 cm — 39,000 m²
- Curb painting with high-grade road paint — 11,500 m
- Clearing of sewage and rain-water network — 2,000 m
- Heavy-duty and standard manhole covers — 170 nos.

- 365-day programme with milestone verification by BOC and the beneficiary
- 12-month warranty from handover
- Executed under BOC HSE procedures and Al Shamsh ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- In-situ quality control, including asphalt laydown temperature verification
