Solar Cathodic Protection System — PS1 to PS3 (342 km)

Completed

Design, supply, installation and commissioning of a solar-powered cathodic protection system along a 342 km strategic pipeline from Pumping Station 1 (PS1) to Pumping Station 3 (PS3), protecting the pipeline from corrosion across challenging terrain.

Project Overview

This landmark project involved the design and delivery of a complete solar cathodic protection system along a 342 km strategic pipeline route from PS1 to PS3 in southern Iraq. The system uses solar energy to power impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) equipment, providing long-term corrosion protection to critical national oil infrastructure.

Scope of Work

  • Detailed design of cathodic protection system
  • Supply and installation of solar PV panels and battery systems
  • Installation of impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) equipment
  • Anode groundbed installation along the pipeline route
  • Reference cell and test point installation every 2 km
  • Pipeline coating inspection and repair
  • Remote monitoring system integration
  • Testing, commissioning, and handover
